With the use of 3 live video feeds, all from different angles, a large 6’ x 8’ mirror, and one-2-one coaching, we can now engage multiple senses for players. The video allows players to see their true movement while the coaches encourage them into proper technique. This assists the players in recognizing the FEELING of proper stride, rather than just knowing what it looks like or trying to interpret only by how a coach explains it.

Scientific studies have shown that after only 8 treadmill training sessions, male/female hockey players showed increased foot speed and leg strength resulting in a 10% increase in explosive power (Harriss, 2010). During this same 8-week training program, players significantly increased their skating speed and reduced on-ice sprinting times (Lockwood, 2010).

As a large on-ice development company, we take advantage of using video for our on-ice training whenever possible. The opportunity for players to see themselves in motion irrefutably has its beneficial elements for refining a player’s stride.

The evolution of learning the FEELING of proper stride to that FEELING turning into a natural habit has accelerated player’s development multiple times over when compared to simply on-ice training.
Our goal for the treadmill player development program is to provide a controlled environment that will both challenge and consistently develop players throughout each session. We have established a program that focuses on encouraging players to achieve their goals. Our program suits each age/skill level and is designed to complement team practices and development goals.
Each Training Session is 1 hour long
A maximum of 4 players can train during an individual training session. This ratio simulates the same work to rest ratio of 3-1 as players will experience in game.
Players wear their lower gear to give the realistic feel
As players progress through our training protocols their plan will adjust based on their skill/age
